About Novagaia
Novagaia (pronounced: naw-vuh-gahy-uh): New Earth
Happiness, joy, health and self fulfillment can be experienced when you are in balance.
In today's busy and rapidly changing world, it's easy to be out of balance. There are more demands, more things to do and less time to be. There's a growing need to stop and listen and to make new or different choices that serve us better in the present reality. To find balance we need time away from the day-to-day routines, from the responsibilities, from work, allowing for self-discovery, self-nurturing and for the possibility of re-inventing ourselves.
Questions like “who am I”, “what is my purpose”, “does my work affirm and expresses who I am”, “is my life balanced in all areas” , “how can I express my creativity” “I want to change the course of my life but I don't know where to start” “I need to earn money but I hate my job, what can I do” etc. can only be answered from within.
In a quiet setting in the countryside, Novagaia is a haven for renewal, healing and personal transformation. Tucked away from the busyness and stress of modern life, Novagaia offers a peaceful, warm and comforting space where you can totally relax -- physically, mentally and emotionally.“We live in a very busy world today” says Paula. “My experience has shown me that in spite of the new technologies, advances in science, and greater access to material goods, people are more stressed, less physically active, more out of balance, more prone to immunodeficiency and degenerative disorders, more dependent on painkillers, or anti-depressants, in sum, not living in well-being. More and more there's a need for space, quietness, play and learning. Stepping into the possibility of seeing oneself and the world from a different perspective allows for the possibility of renewal, balance and change from within. Novagaia provides all of this and more, and those who attend our retreats and classes leave feeling deeply renewed on every level.”
"The idea to create Novagaia resulted from the understanding that everyone needs time to rest and relax in a supportive environment," added Paula Vibert. “I decided to create something that feels cozy, home-grown and organic” with the intent to serve anyone who is looking for self-renewal, happiness, joy and balance. Whether people are just tired and need to rest, or are experiencing physical pain, going through sudden changes or difficult challenges, depressed or anxious, uncertain or insecure, it doesn't matter – we welcome everyone just as they are.
Novagaia's mission is to support everyone on their journey. Besides private sessions tailored to suit individual client needs and weekend retreats (whether they are self directed or with guidance) Novagaia provides weekly classes – yoga, somatics, relaxation, meditation – that will refresh, renew and sustain you.
About Paula Vibert

Paula Vibert, originally from Portugal, moved to Canada in 1995.
When Paula decided to accompany a friend to a yoga class, she instantly fell in love with the practice. “I felt like I had found both an anchor and a compass for myself and my life”. That deep love and dedication to this ancient practice is still with her and is at the core of her life.
In 2002, she went to Kripalu Yoga Center in Massachusetts and became certified as a Kripalu Yoga Teacher.
Teaching yoga since then and constantly growing and evolving, and continuing with her yogic studies, in 2007 she graduated as a Professional-Level Kripalu Yoga Teacher.
Meditation has played a key role in her practice and she delves deeper and deeper into the practice and study of Vipassana Meditation.
But meditation is not a separate practice, not separate from life. The postures (asanas), the breathing techniques (pranayama), the discipline that a practice like this requires, the meditative aspect of Kripalu Yoga, all lead to one’s inner world, the only place for achieving direct experience, and direct knowledge which in turn are integrated into one’s daily life. Meditation is inner awareness, and it is a journey into one’s own truth and inner peace.
One of Paula’s goals is to demystify meditation, to make it accessible and relevant to every student so that they in turn can experience its benefits in their own lives on a daily basis.
Meditation is not time away from life. It is a center from where life springs in a meaningful way.
In addition to being a Certified Professional Level Kripalu Yoga Teacher, Paula Vibert is a Pain Reduction Specialist who has assisted many people in finding relief from chronic pain, injuries, restricted movement, sore muscles, tightness and stiffness.
